Bringing Integrity to the Written Word

Stop the Presses!!!!!

My second official week as acting editor seemed slightly less frantic than my first, until I got the opportunity to literally “Stop the presses.” While most editors/reporters only dream of ever getting to use the phrase, it’s usually associated with a late-breaking, big news story. Unfortunately, my big moment was due to missing a pretty important swear word in the paper. So, I called the printer, stopped the presses, and had them white the words out. Disaster diverted, a little wounded ego on my part, but hey, at least I can check “stop the presses” off my list of things I’ve done in life.
