one year anniversary

I’ve been here for one year now, and wow, has my life changed. When I fled the city in search of excitement, stimulation and better opportunities, I had an idea in my mind what it would look like. And it looks like this, although I thought I would find it further away than big V town. I spent years in the city dreaming of fleeing and finding a small town, in a little house, changing the community through my writings. After spending the week with my family I realized that’s exactly what I have here. I love my job, have a quaint little home, and great people who have quickly stolen my heart. There is little that I really want for here, except for the occasional wanderlust. While my original plan included several states within one year, I feel fortunate to have landed here with the opportunities I have. I think I’ll ride it out here until the right time comes along to move on, but I see no need to leave this “party” while it’s still in full swing.
